ABOUT US

Word Alive Commission for Christian Education (WACCE) is the educational arm of the Church that was birthed in 2010 by Rev. Dr Zacc Kawalala with a mandate to teach children while they are young, and to equip and empower Leaders who will empower others to make disciples of all nations.

The commission has since grown and has 5 main thematic areas under its current strategic plan namely quality Pre & Junior Primary school learning, training & qualification of Christian Leaders, Advanced leadership skills of Professionals, Life Skills in Children & the youth and quality Adult Literacy. Effective from August 2024, the Commission will focus on 3 Thematic themes namely quality Pre, Junior & Senior Primary school learning, Training & qualification of Christian Leaders & quality Adult Literacy.

Leadership

The commission is led by Lady Pastor Chiku Gondwe who is the Director and is supported by a pool of highly qualified & experienced department heads i.e. The Head Teacher for the Academy, Assistant Registrar for the Bible College, Lecturers, teachers, assistant teachers and child minders. WACCE has a total workforce of 28 with 23 serving on full time basis while 5 are serving on part-time. At a governance level, the General Overseer is the head of the commission supported by the Christian Education Board (CEB). The Christian Education Board is a technical advisory board, which comprises of volunteers from the church who influence the direction of the commission by providing unbiased information and advice regarding Christian Education to the General Overseer.

Word Alive Christian Academy (WACA) is a school established on the highest standard of morals which is the WORD of God.  We seek to uphold a high level of excellence in all that we do that will bring out the best results in your child spiritually, socially, emotionally and intellectually. 

WACA uses the Montessori Method of teaching for the Pre-School.  This is a superior method of teaching young children and it is ideal for children with learning challenges.  For the Primary School, we use the WACA Integrated Curriculum (Which is the Malawi Government curriculum with a deliberate focus of the development of learners in all dimensions of life: spiritual, moral, emotional, cognitive, imaginative, aesthetic, social and physical).

Curriculum

The WACA Curriculum focuses on the development of learners in all dimensions of life: Spiritual, moral, emotional, cognitive, imaginative, aesthetic, social and physical. WACA believes that the spiritual aspect is the foundation of all the other building blocks. WACA believes that every human being is spirit, soul and body. But more importantly, a human being is a spiritual being.

  • Word Alive Christian Academy Becomes a Full Primary School

In the year 2024, Word Alive Christian Academy became a Full Primary School, became a MANEB Centre and had its 1st Grade 7 learners sit for PSLCE Exams. 12 learners sat for the exams and We are excited that we achieved 100% Passrate & 83% Selection Rate to Public Secondary Schools in our very 1st sitting for which are truly thank God. Word Alive Christian Academy Management & Staff are committed to providing an excellent Education to the Malawian Children as we prepare them for the future Leadership roles under our Motto, “Raising Leaders for Generations to come”!

Bible College

  • About the college

The word Alive Bible College was established in February 2008 as a means to increase the number of well trained leaders for the end time harvest. The college is predominantly modular with some classes offered only on the Blantyre campus.

The College runs a variety of courses ranging from Certificate, Diploma and a total number of 9 degree courses.

  • Calendar

The College runs on trimester calendar systems with three trimesters that start from September to August. The first trimester runs enrollments in August and commences classes in the second week of September. The second Trimester commences classes in the second week of the month of January and the third trimester commences classes in the second week of April.

Despite running the trimester calendar, admissions to the Bible college are open during the whole academic year. Students can enroll and be admitted at any particular time of the year.

  • Curriculum / Class structure

Curriculum

The college is an affiliate of Team Impact International which is accredited with International board of higher learning institutions. All study material covered in the Bible College is from Team Impact University (TICU).

The study material lincluding examinations are all modular based. Both the certificate & Diploma have a total number of 10 modules, both are covered in a period of 1 year. The degree courses have a total number of 15 modules, 10 modules cover the general core courses and the 5 cover the designated major of a particular course. Class Structure

Tuition based courses ae only offered at Certificate and Diploma Courses. Classes are offered in the evenings to suit schedules of leaders from all walks of life.
