Meet our Senior Pastor

Reverend Dr. Zacc Kawalala is the General Overseer of Word Alive Ministries International (WAMI), with its headquarters in Blantyre, Malawi.

Under his leadership, WAMI has planted churches in Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa and has a growing on-line congregation for people from different nations, like USA, UK, India and other parts of Africa.

Reverend Dr. Zacc is holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from the University of Malawi, The Polytechnic, a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, a Masters in Leadership and a Doctorate in Ministry from Team Impact Christian University.

Fondly known as Pastor Zacc, Reverend Dr Kawalala is married to his beautiful wife, Reverend Aidah Kawalala and together they have six children (3 boys and 3 girls).

Pastor Zacc is passionate about transformational leadership and is also well known for his integrity and exceptional business skills and acumen.

Before becoming a full-time minister on 3rd January, 1995, Pastor Zacc had worked as an auditor at Graham Carr and Company from 1991.

He is a faculty member and alumni of Haggai Institute, an advanced leadership training Centre in Hawaii, USA.

Under his leadership, he has also established the following

1. Word Alive Commission for Christian Education ( WACCE) which has got 3 departments – Word Alive Christian Academy (WACA); Word Alive Bible College and Seminary ( WABCS) I where he serves as the Principal.There is also the Adult Literacy department whose aim is to assist Government Efforts of eradication of illiteracy. His dream is that every church member must be able to read the bible.

2. Word Alive Commission for Relief and Development ( WACRAD) , which has recently been registered as a Subsidiary company, to expand its reach in Malawi and beyond in works of mercy

3. Governance, Peace and Justice Commission (GPJC), a Subsidiary company whose vision is a just, peaceful and godly society rooted in biblical principles. Under GPJC is the Dynamic Leaders and Gate Keepers Forum (DLGF) which is also his brainchild founded out of brokenness of heart and spirit, seeing the rate and level of society degeneration and leadership bankruptcy.

Pastor Zacc is the Managing Director of Mkokomo Ltd, a water bottling company he founded as a Subsidiary company of Word Alive Ministries International.

He is a Commissioner of Malawi Peace and Unity Commission, Board member of the Healing Jesus Campaign of Light House Chapel in Ghana, Chaplain of the Fraternal of Evangelicals in Parliament.

He is also the current chairman of the College of Spiritual Fathers in Blantyre, a gathering of heads of churches under the Evangelical Association on Malawi.

Pastor Zacc has also served as Chairman of the Ethics, Peace and Justice Commission of the Evangelical Association of Malawi (EAM), Commissioner for the Malawi Human Rights Commission ( MHRC), Commissioner of Competition and Fair Trade (CFTC), Director of Bible Society of Malawi (BSM) and a trustee of the TNM Mobile Money.
